To celebrate the launch of the new Heidi Higgins online shop, we follow our Founder & Creative Director, Heidi Higgins, around for a day in some of her favourite dresses and quality workwear pieces from the latest collection. Along the way, we hear Heidi’s inspiration behind the collection, including how running the business has influenced the direction of her classic, investment style.

8.00am Morning Meeting

Since launching my label almost 10 years ago now my goal has always been to create beautifully crafted clothing for the modern woman who knows her own style and appreciates quality fabrics and tailoring. Just like myself, today’s modern woman is a woman on the go so comfort and ease of wear is of utmost importance. A tailored black dress should be an investment staple in every wardrobe- it’s timeless, classic and effortless especially when you need to put your best foot forward and be your own girl boss!

11.00am Digital Check-In

It’s important for me to create clothes that empower and suit the lifestyle of the busy modern woman. Social media is a great way to get to know my customers. Their feedback inspires me to keep innovation and creativity as a top priority in my design process. Separates like blouses, skirts and trousers have in recent times become more popular, because of their versatility. My new collection is injected with cool, classic pieces that are easy to style and combine with customers own wardrobes too.

2.00pm Pop-Up Shop

Style sessions in my own boutique are one of my favourite parts of the job! Pop-Ups are another great way to keep up relationships with our life-long followers while also introducing the brand to new customers. Online shopping is great, but it’s also important to build trust with customers by coming to their town, meeting them and speaking to them in person. It’s all about making contact and letting them know how valuable they are to us.

5.00pm Networking

Running a business at the fast pace that the fashion industry demands often takes me from desk to dinner. Whether it’s a work event or a special occasion, a pop of colour always helps me feel fresh, even after a long day. 

Seeking my ‘Heidi Moment’ a quick outfit change, a pair of heels (my weakness) and I’m out the door!

My brand motto ‘Elegance with a twist’ is a synonym for figure-flattering, intricately designed statement pieces with emphasis on creating a unique twist in every design.
